Intro to Aran Cables
Cables are featured in a variety of knitting styles and are beautiful works of art. In this class, we’ll turn our focus on the unique style of Aran knitting which originated from the Aran Islands off the west coast of Ireland. We’ll learn how to work a few different types of cables as well as how to read cable patterns and charts. Of course, as in all things Irish, the tradition of Aran knitting comes with its own set of folktales which we’ll discuss while we knit.
