TERRITORIAL ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

The IRL Festival acknowledges that we are situated on the Haldimand Tract, land of the Mississaugas of the Credit that was promised to the Haudenosaunee of the Six Nations of the Grand River, and is within the territory of the Chonnonton, Anishinaabe, and Haudenosaunee peoples.
We are eternally grateful for the welcome the First Peoples showed to the Irish refugees escaping famine and oppression and to the waves of Irish immigrants still coming to start a new life to this day on Turtle Island. We recognize that we are guests in this land and are committed to living in harmonious community and supporting the First Peoples of this land in their striving for a better life and a thriving culture.

Niá:wen ki' wáhi and go raith maith agaibh to the First Peoples of this land and may we continue in our long history of friendship.
